The boat and her history
Ashuma is a 25 ft Jim Brown designed Searunner trimaran. She is 25ft long and 16ft wide. She was built in Costa Rica in 1978. Information on Jim Brown and the history of multihulls can be found at http://outrigmedia.com/outrig/
She is constructed from epoxy saturated plywood. We take her out of the water for about a month every year and make her new again.
You can read a nice little piece about her at small trimarans .com

She was built at Playa Coco in Guanacaste.
Here is a small gallery of pics that might give you an idea of what’s involved in making an old wooden boat seaworthy and keeping her in great condition.
